Vietnam: Top 10 Fastest-Growing Tourist Destinations

Vietnam: Top 10 Fastest-Growing Tourist Destinations

The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) has named the Top 10 fastest-growing tourist destinations in the world in 2017, and Vietnam is among the list.

This isn’t really a surprise considering Vietnam has always been a favourite place to visit among local and foreign tourists alike with its world-class spots such as Ha Long Bay and Ninh Binh, just to name a few; and pristine beaches, forests, mountains, caves, waterfalls, deltas and rivers. Its unique, delicious and surprisingly affordable cuisine is also another tourist magnet. Perhaps most of all, its warm and friendly citizens make visitors comfortable and at home, wanting them to come back.

Ha Long Bay is famous for its fantastic view, wherein tourists rent junk boats to tour around the area. The waters tend to be polluted, but this doesn’t discourage tourists from flocking the place. For those who want a less congested scene but just as beautiful, Ninh Binh is another popular tourist destination, known as the “inland Ha Long Bay.”

In November of 2017 alone, more than 1.17 million foreign visitors entered Vietnam, a 14.4% increase from October. This brought in a total of 11.6 million international tourists visiting Vietnam in the first 11 months of 2017, a 27.8% rise compared to the same period in 2016.

In 2016, 10 million foreign tourists entered Vietnam, a very high 25% increase compared to 2015 and the first time the country has ever experienced. In 2000, there was roughly 2 million visitors to the country.

With its naturally breathtaking sights and rich culture and history, it’s only fitting that Vietnam be included in the Top 10 Fastest-Growing Tourist Destinations all over the world.
