Vietnam cultural week 2010 in Germany and Belgium

According to Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam, Vietnam Cultural week 2010 will be held in Germany in August 28 -29, 2010 and in Belgium from September 1 to 5, 2010. The Vietnam cultural week in Germany takes place in the occasion of 35th anniversary of diplomatic relation establishment between Vietnam and Germany.

As an opportunity to open and strengthen cultural exchange between two countries, the cultural week will be organized in the area of 4,000 square meters at Alexander Platz Square – Berlin in August 28 and 29. During two days, a photograph exhibition will introduce to public, visitors and overseas Vietnamese the beauty of country and people, the diversity of Vietnamese culture.

Many traditional and special art performances will highlight the millennium anniversary of Thang Long – ${bigcity_Hanoi:"Hanoi"} during the event. Essentially, Vietnamese Embassy in Germany will arrange 35 exhibition stands, as 35th year of diplomatic relation, to introduce Vietnamese culinary culture, handicrafts and fine arts. From October 14 to 22, 2010 a Vietnamese film week will present the best ten documentaries and featured films in Magdeburg City. A few weeks later, Vietnam cultural week in Belgium will be held in four days from September 1 to 5. Art performances such as folk dances, singing, fashions show will perform the unique of Vietnamese traditional clothes to international friends.

The event aims to introduce Vietnamese culture, the country and its people with the theme of 1000th anniversary of the ancient capital. These cultural activities are toward the honor holding of Vietnam as Chairman of ASEAN and Belgium as Chairman of European Union this year. The opening of cultural weeks in Germany and Belgium are opportunities for Vietnam to strengthen its friendly relationship with countries and bring the co-operation in economic – cultural development to a new level to appraise Vietnam’s effort with international communities and again, this is a great chance to popularize Vietnam’s image across the globe.
