Vietnam: Among Top Asian Tourist Destination

Vietnam is among the top Asian tourist destinations. This data is according to a recent survey done by the Visa Global Travel Intentions Survey 2011 on the top Asian tourist destinations among several Asian countries.

According to the survey, culture, beautiful landscapes, reasonable prices or attractive tourism packages and a stable political situation are the main reasons why Vietnam has become a favorite tourist destination in Asia especially in the nest two years. About 24 percent of future tourists to the country would come from Singapore and Thailand. Australians will make up for 10 percent of Vietnamese visitors while South Korean tourists are also seen to visit the country increasingly over time.

Deputy Director of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) Hoang Thi Diep stated that the survey plays a significant role in helping to promote the country’s tourism goals especially in the future.

The result also revealed that about 64% of the interviewees are willing to pay for tourist destinations that offer good food while 63% of those interviewed are willing to spend more on tourist attractions that are known for landscapes and their unique cultural identity. The particular survey interviewed 11,000 tourists from 23 countries.
