As part of the Lunar New Year or Tet celebration, four art exhibitions by both professional and amateur artists are being organized to the delight of both local and foreign visitors.${bigcity_Hue:"Hue"} Art Gallery will sponsor the momentous event featuring 54 creations by various artists under two showcases: Fine Arts in Spring and Dragon, the Zodiac Sign of the Year.

The artworks are made of different materials such as lacquer and oil but all working around the theme of spring, the country, and the people. For instance, veteran painter Dang Mau Triet, whose works are displayed at the Song Huong Magazine’s showroom, named his exhibition Spring Comes to the Tam Giang Lagoon.

Café Song Nhu Gallery also participates in the artistic endeavor and showcases 20 various paintings by both young artists and veteran painter Dang Mau Tuu featuring dragons in several shapes and states. The art exhibitions will run through January.

Still in the line of art and in celebration of the Tet holiday, Japanese-Vietnamese contemporary dance artist Michiyo Pham Nga will perform in ${bigcity_Hanoi:"Hanoi"}. On a show named “Let’s Gather Near,” the famous artist will showcase her own choreography of the contemporary dance 3 Some. The performance highlights Vietnamese folklore music and the “desire for a free life full of happiness.” It also features the famous Chinese DJ Xeum. Michiyo said that if the performance will rave positive results, she will set up a dance show in Ha Noi which blends modern dance with rock and modern pop music.

Nga is another well-known artist in the field of hip-hop dance. She has collaborated with other popular groups such as Big Toe (a Vietnamese group) and Pattaya (Thai female dancing group). She has won prestigious awards in Asia and Europe.

Another group of painters are set to display their art works in Vietnam. Twelve Russian painters belonging to an acclaimed international association of artists Sunny Square will hold an art exhibition at the ${bigcity_Ho_Chi_Minh_City:”Ho Chi Minh City”} Fine Arts Museum.

Sunny Square was founded and led by Russian painter Sergey Radyuk. The exhibition is timely as the group is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Since its inception, it now has a collection of 97 paintings in varying ranges of styles, materials and topics. It is their second time in Vietnam since their first exhibition 15 years ago. Other famous Russian artists in the show include Oleg Trofimov, Tatiana Katran, Sergey Kasabov, and Anastasia Timoshenko.

The paintings will be on display at the museum until January 28.
