Quang Binh Aims to Strengthen Tourism in Hanoi

In a press conference held last March 16, 2017, Hanoi City introduced “Quang Binh in the Land of Hanoi,” a cultural and tourism promotion programme aimed at boosting the tourism sector of Quang Binh Province to attract more domestic and international visitors into the area.

Among the items outlined in the programme are: creating a governing policy for all the travel agencies in Hanoi and Quang Binh which integrates them in their goal of advertising their place in order to entice tourists to visit; improving existing and creating innovative products in the province; foster investment; and open additional flights from Quang Binh to Chiang Mai, Thailand and from Dong Hoi City to Cat Bi, Hai Phong. Quang Binh Province is rich in history and culture so this is also eyed as another factor in invigorating tourism in the area.

This means presenting its wonderful traditions, sacred land, heroes and other exceptional people to the rest of the world. Images of Hanoi City, Quang Binh and Vietnam in general should also be further advertised globally. Several activities and events have also been prepared in line with the tourism efforts of the province. These include: a musical show entitled “Quang Binh in Songs” which will be held at the Hanoi Opera House on March 26 and 27, 2017 from 8:00-10:30 p.m.; a photo exhibition entitled “Quang Binh – Most Attractive Destination in Asia;” a feature presentation of the famous folk song “Heave-ho” by Le Thuy; a seminar promoting tourism in the area; and a marketing strategy highlighting the world-famous caves of Quang Binh, particularly Son Doong Cave, known as the world’s largest cave.

A number of other musical presentations as well as other tourism-related promotional activities have been planned for the delight of local and foreign visitors. Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park in the central province of Quang Binh is an UNESCO-recognized World Heritage Site, acknowledged as such not only once, but twice. Its rich geological, geo-morphological, biodiversity and aesthetic features made it earn such prestige, a guaranteed factor to lure even more visitors into the place. Needless to say, Quang Binh is endowed with immaculate beaches, longest coastlines and other natural breathtaking sights which have been drawings tourists from all over the globe for the longest time.

This is one of the strengths of the province in its tourism department and something which it should always safeguard that it maintains its purity and at the same time continuously upgrade that it competes internationally.    The programme hopes to transform its tourism sector into a primary economy in the long run. The promotional programme will be launched on March 25, 2017.
