Phu Quoc Ranks 3rd in Best Winter Trips

According to National Geographic Traveler magazine, Phu Quoc island of Vietnam is the world’s third top destinations for best winter trips 2014. A mountainous and densely forested Island, Phu Quoc lies approximately 600 square kilometers in the Gulf of Thailand. It is the country’s largest island. When viewed from afar, the island is shaped like a tear and is surrounded by several smaller islands to its south.

It is here in Phu Quoc where the most stunning beaches in the country are found. For its pleasant tropical climate, untouched natural environment, calm atmosphere, and abundance of fantastic scuba diving and snorkeling spots, it has become a well-sought destination both for local and foreign visitors. Fresh well-prepared seafood, rich local culture and the hospitality of its locals are among the most appreciated experiences of those who have been to Phu Quoc. Apart from its arguably gorgeous beaches, there are loads of other interesting activities in the island to keep visitors entertained including trips to pearl farms, waterfalls, gaudy temples and the Dinh Cau Night Market. The island is also well-known for producing the best nuoc mam (fish sauce) in entire Viet Nam as well as the island’s signature sweet-sour Phu Quoc sauce which is an essential Vietnamese condiment.
