Multimillion Golf Range to Open in Hanoi

Golf lovers in Vietnam are bracing up for the launch of the multimillion golf club project to open in the country’s capital on April 30.

The 3.5-ha golf driving range will officially open at My Dinh Sports Complex, around 10km west of the capital's city centre, featuring a three-storey building costing to The VND70 billion ($3.3 million) in construction started some time last year. The structure has 108 lanes for golfers to master their swing at the 300-yard long golf centre and will be the biggest driving range in the country.

With its size, it can host at least 100 players teeing-off at the same time, and includes two putting greens and two bunkers. It will be available for all golf-fanatics all days in a week and with its very convenient location, not much travel time is required to reach it. To make it launch more interesting, they invited five foreign coaches to provide training to newbies and kids as part of an extended program.

The golf club is also where Vietnamese golfers will hone their skills in preparation for major international tournaments. Among its plans in the upcoming years, the centre will establish a golf academy to nurture young talented golfers who shows to be promising in the sports.

They will be accept enrollment for kids as young as seven in a long-term professional training course. The opening of the academy aims to raise the profile of golf across Vietnam. In a country with around 10,000 regular golfers, but only five have turned into professional, the golf club may be a powerful instrument to bring that numbers up and make a huge difference on how Vietnam is positioned on this sports category. For now, people are on for the big launch and for the fun ahead!
