Mui Nai: Exploring Beauty and Mystery

Mui Nai: Exploring Beauty and Mystery

Mui Nai Tourist Area is just one of the many tourist attractions at Ha Tien Town in the Mekong Delta Province of Kien Giang. But it stands out from the other destinations for its breathtaking natural beauty and perhaps most of all, its “mysterious” legends.

Based on a local legend, the name Mui Nai started many years ago when an adventurous deer wandered onto the beach and couldn't find its way home. It eventually died of hunger and thirst, by the beach where the wave swept away its poor, lifeless body. Today, it is said that if you stand on the opposite hill or look back from a boat, you can make out the shape of a deer bending down to drink water from the whole mountain itself.

Mui Nai Tourist Area is made up of Ta Pang Mountain on one side and the sea on the other. Hamlets and villages are positioned by the mountains with many coconut trees that are both beautiful to look at and at the same time giving shade and comfort to the abodes. Amazing beaches with “weird”-shaped buoys are among the must-visit sites at the tourist area. Trekking at Ta Pang Mountain is also one of the reasons why tourists flock to the area. Games are also available for the guests at the mountain. A rollercoaster ride is also available which travels from the peak to the foot of the mountain, something which visitors always find exciting and memorable. Mui Nai also offers a majestic view of Ha Tien Town, probably one of the reasons why it is considered to be one of the most beautiful landscapes in the area.

Mui Nai Tourist Area can be reached by the following route: From Ha Tien Market, turn right at To Chau Bridge, head straight to Xa Xi border gate. Travel one kilometer until reaching a signboard that says Mui Nai. Then go another two kilometers until reaching a T-junction. Turn left for Nui Den Tourist Area and right for Mui Nai Tourist Area. For those in search of both beuty and mystery, Mui Nai Tourist Area is the place to explore.
