More and more green construction works come out

Developing green works has become a growing tendency in the construction industry, because experts believe that green works will create a better and more economical living standard. Vietnam has a tropical climate with heat and high humidity. Therefore, ventilation and cooling systems are the two biggest concerns for the landlords. Construction works need to be designed in a way which allows to make the houses airy with as much as possible natural air and as less as possible heat from the sun.

As the demand for green works has been increasing steadily, more and more green construction materials have come out, including unfired bricks and power saving bulbs.

Green works save 20 percent more energy

Pham Huy Phong from the ${bigcity_Ho_Chi_Minh_City:”Ho Chi Minh City”} Energy Saving Center said that green construction works would cost the investors 15-30 percent more. However, the investors would benefit later because the operation cost would be lower, thanks to the energy saving methods. He said that green works can save up to 20 percent more energy in comparison with normal construction works.

As green works have been encouraged by the State, more and more green construction materials have been launched into the market. Quang Nang Company in HCM City has marketed light concrete bricks made in accordance with the Vietnamese standards TCXDVN 316:2004.

The lightweight concrete bricks have the density of 800 kilos per cubic meter; the compressive strength of 50 kilos per square centimeters, and the size 100 x 200 x 400 mm, weight 6.4 kg per brick. Since these are unfired bricks, the brick production process does not generate emissions which can pollute the environment.

Nhan Thanh Ut, a man in district 9 of HCM City has just introduced a new product invented by him – uninflammable lightweight concrete panels. Ut said that he began thinking of the material after the Prime Minister released the decision No. 567 in 2010, stipulating that the houses with nine and more stories must use lightweight materials.

The government has also released the program on developing unfired materials by 2020.

Also according to Ut, the special panels have been tested at the Test Center No. 3 of the General Directorate of Standards, Measurement and Quality.

Ventilation system products

Tan Ky Nguyen Company in HCM City has marketed ventilation systems used in industrial production (workshops, supermarkets, markets) and for civil purposes.

According to Tan Ky Nguyen’s Director Diep Bao Canh, the ventilation system can cool a room with the area of 130 square meters. It can help alternate the air in the room, thus allowing to reduce the room temperature by 3-7°C. The air in the room can be replaced with the fresh air absorbed by the system from the outside. There are three wind speed levels for customers’ choice with the maximum wind volume reaching 17,000 cubic meters per hour. While the efficiency of the ventilation system is believed to be equal to air-conditioners, it only consumes one Kwh of electricity per hour.

Heat resistant paint

Duong Luan Company in HCM CIyt has introduced an Australian product – heat resistant and waterproof paint.

The paint will be sprayed directly from outside of the construction works, such as sheet metal roof, terrace or side walls. As the paint is effective against heat radiation, it can help cool of the surface immediately by up to 20 º C.

The product has been recognized by the organization board of Encon Expo 2011, an energy saving product exhibition as an energy effective product.
