Mau Son is situated in Loc Binh District, about 30 kilometers from Lang Son City. Nestled about 800 to more than 1,500 meters above sea level, it is a breathtaking view of nature in all its splendor and glory.
 
Phia Po is the highest mountain in a group of 80 peaks. Located near the border between Vietnam and China, it is likewise a spectacular sight of the northeast region. The winding path through this mountain leads to the peak of Mau Son. Ruins of a French military base and villas provide an added attraction and historical significance to the place.
 
Dao is an ethnic minority group native to the area, in fact the first inhabitants of Mau Son. Tourists can catch a glimpse of the villagers and their daily life, though the roads may be rough and steep. But then again, passing through the gorgeous rice terraces and waterfalls and seeing the beautiful natives themselves makes all the uncomfortable trip worthwhile and truly memorable.
