On the South Central Coast of Vietnam, in Binh Dinh province, sits an island so pristine, unpopulated and full of charm. Because of innate peace and quiet, the uninhabited Hon Seo Island is an ideal destination for local and foreign tourists in search for pure sea and island experience. It is located off the Phuong Mai Peninsula in Nhon Ly commune, about 15km northeast of Quy Nhon city, Hon Seo Island. When viewing Hon Seo from the mainland, the island resembles a huge ship sailing to shore. The island can be reached using boats offered by tour companies or fishing boats from local fishermen at Nhon Ly.

Starting off from Nhon Ly Beach will take about 20 minutes to arrive at the island, passing through the Wind Strait (Eo Gio) to Yen (swallow) Island. When departing from Quy Nhon port, the trip will take over an hour.The island has a long stretch of colorful pebble stones, which is among its main attraction.

Visitors mostly take some home as souvenirs. About 10 meters from the pebble stretch toward the foot of the mountain is a huge natural stone cave and is also a must-see. The Wind Strait and Yen Island from the Hon Seo’s right and the Phuong Mai Mountain on its left appears like huge pair of arms embracing the island if you view it from atop.Upon reaching the island, its undeniably clear waters will surely catch any visitors’ attention.

Unique coral reefs and colorful fish of different kinds swimming in water is another delightful welcome. Here, one can savor a beautiful escape from the chaotic city life and enjoy simple pleasures like appreciating the colorful pebbles on the beach, climb across large rocks or go diving.Visitors can enjoy other activities in Hon Seo like camping, sightseeing fish for fresh food. Travelers may also join local fishermen to experience catching eel or big fish, and then cook and eat them as a reward for successful fishing. Because of the variety of nature activities it offers, Hon Seo is a wonderful travel spot for adventure tours.
