A Little Taste of Paris

Paris Deli Boulangerie et Café has two glass walls overlooking Pasteur Street and a luxury jewelry boutique in the mall. As the name suggests, it’s a Parisian-style café offering one of the best cuisines and elegant culture all over the world. But no, the café isn’t located in Paris. Not in the least bit. Paris Deli Boulangerie et Café can be found on the ground floor of ${bigcity_Ho_Chi_Minh_City:”Ho Chi Minh City”} Centre.

Like a typical Parisian café, Paris Deli is elegantly designed with a red brick wall; fresh flowers; paintings; ultra-comfortable chairs; and a big, shady tree outside for customers to sit under, eat, drink and simply relax. But true to Vietnamese warmth and hospitality, the waiters and even manager himself sees to the needs of its clients first-hand to make sure all their needs and wants are met to their ultimate satisfaction.

Classic music like Mozart and Bach were playing inside the café. You can hear jazz every now and then. But this doesn’t stop the young generation from even making up most of the clientele, especially with the café’s terrace with white umbrellas which makes a good spot for the young people to “hang around” and “hang out,” as the saying goes. An Earl Grey tea and several cake selections are just some of the choices one can make. The main menu is something to be treated as a main event with its wide array of international dishes.

French and Italian cuisine are the café’s major attraction, but there are literally hundreds of dishes and drinks one can choose from. The starters compose of soups and salads in a variety of cooking styles. Here are just some of the choices: minestrone soup (VND60,000), clam soup (VND70,000), pumpkin soup (VND60,000), crab meat with avocado salad (VND80,000), apple salad (VND75,000), Caesar salad (VND75,000).

The main menu include such dishes as fried fillet or pork mixed with honey or plum sauce served with vegetables (VND170,000); pan-fried Australian beef served with mushroom sauce and mashed potato (VND230,000); curried lamb served with steamed rice (VND200,000); roasted lamb rib served with mashed potato (VND230,000).

Paris Deli Café offers such drinks as coffee, tea, fresh fruit juices, and blended juices ranging from VND45,000-65,000). Of course, it’s a heaven for those who love sweets with its choices of pastry, bakery, and Italian ice cream. Apple pie, cheese cake, croissant, and white chocolate are must-trys in the Parisian-style café. For the ice cream lovers, they can try the different flavors of strawberry, pineapple, coconut, and passion fruit.
