A 3D Look at Hue Architecture

${bigcity_Hue:"Hue"} architecture is about to take on a 3D makeover. This is made possible by the partnership between Hue Relics Preservation Centre and its partners with a vision to create 3D images that feature historic architecture. This would be a daring and innovative move for the restoration efforts of Viet Nam.   The pictures use real-time rendering technology to capture the essence of Vo Thanh Temple for instance, one of the city’s most famous ancient relics built in 1835 under the Minh Mang dynasty. All of the images are designed by Architect Nguyen Phuoc Thien and his staff of software designers of the ${bigcity_Ho_Chi_Minh_City:”Ho Chi Minh City”} University of Architecture. The project is also in line with the center’s cultural researchers. The pictures are associated with lights and sounds for a more realistic effect. Moreover, touch screens on computers are utilized to draw highlights or identify feedback points that can be duplicated on the screens right away during real-time discussions among the users.

The 3D project is part of Hue Relics Preservation Centre’s long-time goal of “preserving and expanding the values of Hue’s history, culture and architecture.” The center’s Deputy Director Phan Thanh Hai said it will work hand in hand with Thien and his staff to restore historic works in Hue with the aid of modern technology.
